Fledge, that was her name and she was magnificent... Her mane and tail streaming alabaster falls, silken ropes that flowed from her sleek bodice. The hue of her pelt was of the richest gold, not a scar marred it's silken surface... Her eyes, ahh, her beautiful eyes. Glowing sapphire, endless pools of beauty. Strength radiated from her and her presence was thick with strong will and sheer power. Evil feared her, good adored her and she loved without cease. Every blade of grass she loved, every star and cloud in the sky she loved, every single creature she loved. Love poured from her heart freely and every day was endless paradise...
Fledge was struck down in the prime of life...
Humans. The hated race of cruel, merciless, evil creatures who put the golden pegasus in a cold, hard, dark barn for three long, tortured years. Only taking her out to display her to potential breeders or buyers, taking her to fairs and other events in which she was put on show like a freak of nature. After two years of torment and cruelty, she lay down and couldn't go on any more... The once proud, loving, gorgeous vixen was now ruined. And she lay in that dark, cold place, only rarely eating or drinking and spending most of her time in a corner. When the humans came for her, she lashed out with all her strength, kicking, biting, causing as much harm as she could until, one day, she escaped. Severely lame and wounded, but she was free! And now here, in this green, beautiful land, stands a ruined, scarred, bleeding pegasus, dirt caked on her form, gashes open and apparent strewn all over her body, and blindness overtaking her still gorgeous eyes. Healing will take time, but with love and care, she will grow once again to the beautiful, life-filled creature she once was...

Sun shimmered down through the canopy of trees. The forest seemed peaceful, and it was the right day for a jog or any beast to roam over the plains. Emerald seas of grass waved in the slight breeze. It caught the tops of the trees, causing them to rattle in the coming fall. The trees had begun to loose their summer leaves, sending them tumbling to the earth floor below. The great roots of the trees bouced out of the ground, rising in little clumps that were scarcley visible under the bed of leaves which had already fallen, and from years past.
The snorting and heavy breaths added to this picetuesque setting. Ebony pelt glistened in the dying sunlight. The figure has rich black mane which was tossed around lightly as he cantered along. Hooves beat in a steady rythum on the soft earthen floor. His nostrils were flared, showing pink on the insides. They breathed with regular breaths. His chest showed finely carved muscles, and his breeding showed through his crafted head and neck. His rounded hindquaters bobbed in a steady pace. His sloped back wrose and fell with his breath. Her paraded at a easy lope, then paused, testing the wind. Nostrils flared, and he began again at a grueling pace.
The ground flew out from beneath him, his hoves barely touched the ground it seemed. His veins bulged from beneath his coal black coat. He slowed his pace as he approached the pegasus mare which stood. Her eyes showed no trust, no light in which his did. No thought or care of the area around her. Sadness glowed around her, the impact of it swallowed him in a cloud of it. He snorted, then bobbed his head. He was not shy, though he did not intend to startle the mare either. He only wanted to let her know that he was there, not pry her into a conversation or anything of the sort. His eyes captured by her, held curiosity about her, though he dared not ask.
